Vallette Street
This stately side-hall home with its deep wrap-around veranda was built in Algiers Point around 1869.
The home’s beautiful curb appeal helped conceal the interior’s lack of circulation. Choppy rooms both upstairs and downstairs called to be reorganized. The dated bathrooms screamed for updates and the non-existent primary suite left the homeowners puzzled.
By reorganizing the circulation, adding a small second-story addition, and updating the interior finishes, the home has now taken on a new life, one that matches its majestic street presence. Custom cabinets designed by Archetype are featured throughout, for some much needed storage. Unlacqured brass fittings and curated new and vintage light fixtures illuminate each room.
